001 - How is this our reality?

I have to wonder if some type of cosmic disaster happened without our knowledge and plunged us into a parallel timeline. Like, did a butterfly fart in China and trigger a domino effect of political nonsense?

I still remember waking up the day after the 2016 election, so overcome with impending dread that I was nearly spiraling into a mental breakdown. The hope had died in me and was festering into a gelatinous hatred for humanity.

We voted. We did our civic duty. We did the thing we were told would prevail in the end and…it hadn’t worked. Sure, it worked in 2020, but that election was its own avalanche of circumstances. I keep wondering what would have happened if Covid hadn’t stagnated the world. Being locked inside while our useless president was commanding police to assault peaceful BLM protestors put a sour taste in our mouths. Progress had to keep marching on, even in the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Conservatives are the antithesis of progress. To call it the conservative movement is laughable, because they aren’t moving anywhere but backward. We keep saying that this is the road to fascism, but we are already there. Texas is pretty much a police state now. Women are being denied critical care because the limp-dicked men in government are terrified of us.

Well, I left this post open for a few hours and someone has tried to assassinate Trump again. I’m not going to say that I condone it because it will probably put me on a list if this site jumps off, but you think this is going to persuade them to enact sensible gun laws? The dude actually flew in from Hawaii and acquired a rifle despite his criminal background. Then dumbass Elon Musk just asked why people weren’t trying to assassinate Biden or Harris. Someone’s getting a visit from the FBI.
