013 - We control the weather now, I guess…

Republicans can’t accept the truth of climate change and will cook up the absolute most batshit conspiracies in its place. Apparently, Democrats “cloud-seeded” a hurricane to wipe out GOP voters in Florida. 1) Even if we could do that, we aren’t the blood-thirsty ones, you are, and 2) you think it would be fucking 80-90 degrees in October if we could control it?!?

I should also point that it is Republicans denying climate change, profiting from Big Oil lobbying, and refusing to support green energy policies that landed us in this shit to begin with so YOU red-hatted morons are the ones controlling the weather.

Some absolute geniuses are trying to stay in Florida despite the desperate evacuation order. They are calling for storm surge as high as 15 ft, so I hope you have a fucking raft and oar ready. Or better yet, get some lipstick, pucker up, and kiss your dumb ass goodbye. Maybe write your will on your thigh in Sharpie or something.

(Warning: The next few paragraphs will include discussion of the Silent Hill 2 Remake, so please don’t read any further if you don’t want spoilers.)

You gone yet?

You want to continue?

Okay, but just know that I warned you.

In other less catastrophic news, I ordered a PS5 in hopes of playing the Silent HIll 2 Remake for myself. There’s a lot of detail I want to be able to go over myself. I just learned that there are two new endings for the game, so that’s interesting. I had my doubts about the remake, but by God, Bloober Team smashed it. I do have some gripes about it, but it’s mostly one character’s voice acting. I hold no ill will toward the actress and will fight anyone who harasses her, but it was just an impossible task to one-up the original letter-reading.

The way the level design and puzzles have been combined is brilliant. I had my reservations about them changing the puzzles, but it has been improved, if you can believe it. Like in the apartments, you have to do more daunting tasks to receive the items necessary for the puzzles. The monsters aren’t not the weak and shambling obstacles of the original, they are dangerous now. I was used to getting into a rhythm with them, like three bashes and a finishing stomp or two gunshots and a stomp. But no, that predictability is gone, and these monsters dodge your attacks. The Mannequins now do backflips…or just flips? Since they’re…four legs? Anyway, they also hide under things and in later levels, crawl on the goddamn walls and ceiling like spiders.

What’s it like being in a country where your politicians actually work for progress, not corporate greed? It must nice to have your taxes pay for things like universal healthcare. I want to live in a country that isn’t constantly going through historical events.

Sleep beckons. Signing off.
